Let's all open up our arms, and welcome our newst member to he family. Yes that's right, Sam Savitt is our first, and newst writer to Allegrotechie. He'll be contributing to reviews and just posting all around articles. His bio after the break.

Galaxy Nexus (Verizon LTE Model) Hands On and First Impressions Look:

We were lucky enough to get our hands on the LTE Verizon Wireless model of the Galaxy Nexus today, right in Columbus Circle at the Samsung Experience store. Unfortunately, there was no release date or price announced, but hopefully this will hit the shelves December 8, which is next Thursday. This model packed 32 GB of storage, and though it has LTE, there was no SIM inside (the back battery door was locked down also). From the start, I can tell you it is thicker and heavier than the GSM version--and it is noticeable. That being said, it is still a very thin and light device, especially given that there is an LTE radio in there. In comparison to my LTE GSII Skyrocket (which as of this Thursday is receiving LTE in Manhattan), it is taller and a bit thinner. The device has great ergonomics, with the contour display and hyper skin back plate, it fits very nicely in your palm. After playing around with the device a bit, there are a few things I can confirm/point out:

1.  It comes with two pieces of bloat ware that you cannot uninstall: My Verizon Mobile and VZ Backup Assistant.

2.  Live wallpapers other than the default ICS wallpaper generate significant lag throughout usage of the phone--there was a lot of lag even scrolling through the home pages

3.  Widgets being in the app drawer is annoying--and can be frustrating

4.  The GN is very very snappy. One of the quickest devices out right now.

5.  The back plate sports a Verizon 4G LTE brand name, replacing the space where “Google” was.

I was able to try out most, if not all, the new features of ICS and the phone (NFC Beam, screen shots, Zero Shutter lag, face effects, recent apps, etc.), and this is a very exciting and fun device. If you are eligible for upgrade, or are looking to switch phones and join Verizon, I can’t recommend any phone other than this.

BREAKING-FCC Agrees to AT&T's plans to withdraw from Merger

Today, the FCC agreed to AT&T's request to withdraw from the T-Mobile merger. AT&T has been claiming that the merger would 'create jobs, and help both companies'. In reality that's not true. Most likely, this merger would have made a lot of people lose jobs, and drastically lower the competition in the wireless world. Don't count them out yet though, anything is possible, and this merger could still go through, so stay tuned.

BREAKING: Motorola announces Droid RAZR; still has a hump

The last few days of rumors have all been confirmed. Motorola has announced the Droid RAZR. Claiming to be the "thinnest smartphone in the globe", its ugly hump makes it thicker than some other phones (iPhone 4/4s). The phone boasts a 4.3 inch HD display, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a unique 'cutting edge' design. The phone won't ship with ICS but don't be surprised if it doesn't get it soon. Engadget reports that they say Mr. Eric Schimit at the event.

Motorola is set to announce their Q3 earnings on Oct 27.

REVIEW: Kindle

I love Amazon. I love Kindle. I love books. I only love books when I read them on the Kindle. 

Thats something you may hear me say. But only 3 out of 4 things stated above are true. The one thats not true you ask? The third one. Now don't get me wrong, I like books, just don't adore them. But that all changes when I read them on the Kindle. Maybe that's why I've owned every Kindle since the 1st Gen. It's the only way you'll get me to read. Throw me a Kindle, and I'll read, throw me a book. It's like throwing Superman a bar of Kryptonite. It just doesn't fit. Me+Book= :s

Anyway, I've got my self a brand spankin' new Amazon Kindle, the $79 dollar one. And I'm about to review it. Wanna hear my take? Read on after the break!
